GENERALITIES OF THE GAME
CARD/ENVELOPE SET UP: A standard deck of 52 playing cards will originally be counted and the Ace of Spades confirmed to be in the deck. The cards will be shuffled and placed face down into non-transparent envelopes and sealed. The appointed coordinator from the organization will then shuffle the sealed envelopes and number them from 1 to 52. George Sereggela (President of the Estevan Bruins) will sign each envelope along the seal of the envelope. After each week’s envelope selection, the remaining cards will be locked up for safe keeping until the following week’s draw.
WEEKLY JACKPOT: Each weekly winner will receive a single cash prize equal to 20 percent of all ticket sales collected during the week. The winner will be contacted by phone and asked to choose a numbered envelope from the remaining envelopes, each containing a single card from the standard deck of playing cards. The chosen envelope will be opened and the playing card revealed. If the winner does not answer, a designated proxy (Danny Ewen, Amanda Wanner, Melissa Deitz) will select an envelope for the weekly winner. If the envelope selected by the weekly winner (or proxy) reveals any playing card other than the Ace of Spades, the game continues. All tickets from the previous week are then voided and ticket sales commence for the next weekly draw.
PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT: The progressive jackpot will be seeded at $3500. If the envelope selected by the weekly winner (or proxy) reveals the Ace of Spades (including week 1), the weekly draw winner will receive the Chase the Ace Progressive Jackpot, consisting of 30 percent of all ticket sales collected over all weeks, plus the $3500 seeded amount.
DRAWS: A single ticket number for the weekly winner will be selected each week by a certified Random Number Generator (RNG) from all raffle ticket numbers sold during the week leading up to the draw. Draws will be made at the Estevan Bruins office inside the Estevan Leisure Centre at 701 Souris Avenue, Estevan, SK, S4A 2T1
The draw will be made at approximately 6:15pm and streamed live on Facebook. Purchasers do not need to be present to win.
GAME PLAY OUT: If the game is not concluded by the end of the licensing period according to the dates of the SLGA license, the game will be played out on the last Tuesday before license expiration which will be June 14th, 2022. RNG draws will be made and envelopes selected until there is a winner. There will be no sales between these draws and if the 20% prize weekly winner does not choose the ace, only the progressive jackpot will be eligible to be won in subsequent draws.
