SPIRITWOOD AREA RECREATION, CULTURE & SPORT INC. CHASE THE ACE (“RAFFLE”)
OFFICIAL RULES: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Spiritwood Area Recreation, Culture & Sport Inc., which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the RAFFLE. The RAFFLE is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws.
NET PROCEEDS: All net proceeds of the Raffle will benefit the Spiritwood Area Recreation, Culture & Sport Inc., (hereafter known as “SARCS”) and the programs and charitable donations that SARCS supports.
PURCHASING RAFFLE ENTRIES
PRICE: The following prices and corresponding “ticket numbers” are available for purchase: 1 ticket for $10.00, 5 tickets for $20.00 and 25 tickets for $50.00.
TICKET AVAILABILITY: Tickets available for purchase at www.spiritwoodrecreation.com or in person at the SARCS office by cash or cheque, every week starting Saturday Nov 12, 2022 and concluding no later than May 26, 2023. There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be purchased for a draw, except in the case of a play out draw. In the case of a play out draw management reserves the right to limit the number of tickets sold to an individual of $200 per person during the play out week or the final night of draw. Cutoff for ticket purchases will be at 5:45pm on the day of the draw with the draw being at 6:00pm. Sales will resume approximately 30 minutes after each draw for the following week for a maximum of 27 draws as follows:
November 18th, 25th,2022.
December 2nd, 9th, 16th, 30th,2022.(There will be no draw on Dec 23rd, Ticket sales will resume after Dec 16th draw and be carried over to Dec 30th,2022 draw.)
January 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th,2023.
February 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th,2023.
March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st,2023.
April 6th(Thursday-due to holiday), 14th, 21st, 28th,2023.
May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th,2023.
ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER: All members of the organization, sponsors and their immediate families are eligible to purchase tickets for the raffle. The only persons not eligible to purchase tickets would be those directly involved in the management and undertaking of the raffle being the Event & Recreation Coordinator Kaeli Cross and Facility Supervisor Glennalda Saam and Directors, employees or executives of Tap 50:50 Event Consultants Ltd. Tickets only available to be purchased or sold in Saskatchewan.
GENERALITIES OF THE GAME
WINNER SELECTION: A single ticket number will be selected each draw by a gaming lab certified Random Number Generator (RNG) from all raffle ticket numbers sold during the week leading up to the draw. Draws will be made at the Spiritwood Rec Center 305 1 St E, Spiritwood. The draw will be made at approximately 6:00pm and streamed live on Facebook. The SARCS will have a minimum of three people present at each draw. Purchasers do not need to be present to win. If the winning ticket has more than one name on it, the prize will be awarded to the first person’s name on the ticket. It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to distribute the winnings.
WEEKLY WINNER: The weekly draw winner will receive a single cash prize equal to 20 percent of all ticket sales collected during the week and have a chance to win the progressive jackpot by finding the Ace of Spades from a standard deck of 52 playing cards shuffled and placed face down on a numbered board from 1 to 52. If the winner is not present at the draw, the winner will be contacted by phone and given 10 minutes to come down and select a card or can select a card by selecting a remaining board number from the remaining numbered board spots. If the winner cannot be reached, a designated proxy (Brett Goller or Bevra Fee) will select a card for the weekly winner. If the card revealed is not the Ace of Spades, the selected card is eliminated from the following week’s available cards, the highest numbered board spot is eliminated from the board for the next draw’s card placement and the game continues. Week 1 board spots will be 1 to 52, Week 2 will be 1 to 51, Week 3 will be 1 to 50, Week 4 will be 1 to 49, etc. All tickets from the previous week are then voided and ticket sales commence for the next weekly draw.
PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT: If the card selected reveals the Ace of Spades the weekly draw winner will also receive the Chase the Ace Progressive Jackpot, consisting of 30 percent of all ticket sales collected over all the weeks plus the $3000 seed amount and the Raffle is then concluded. If the Ace of Spades is not drawn the Progressive Jackpot, including the $3000 seed money, carries over to the next week. Once the Ace of Spades is drawn the raffle will conclude. The $3000 seed money is sponsored by SARCS, KS Cattle Corp., c/o Kendall and Stacey Gaboury, G Plus Farms Ltd., c/o Jason and Angela Gaboury, BL Gaboury Farms Ltd., c/o Bryan and Lynn Gaboury, Bar Over AJ Red Angus, c/o Aidan Nielsen Clark and Jayde Tymchak.
GAME PLAY OUT: If the game is not concluded by the end of the licensing period the game will be played out on the last Friday of the license which will be May 26,2023. RNG draws will be made and cards selected until there is a winner. There will be no sales between these draws and if the 20% prize weekly winner does not choose the ace, only the 30% progressive jackpot plus the $3000 seed amount will be eligible to be won by subsequent draws.
NUMBER OF TICKETS: Maximum number of tickets 250,000 with maximum sales of $500,000 and a maximum prize value of all weekly and progressive jackpots of $253,000 including the $3000 seed amount.
POSTING WINNERS: The winning ticket number will be posted to SARCS website following each weekly draw, along with the weekly prize amount and the revealed playing card associated with the weekly winning ticket. Winning information will be announced and streamed live on Facebook.
CARD SECURITY: A standard deck of 52 playing cards will originally be counted and the Ace of Spades confirmed to be in the deck. After each week’s card selection, the remaining cards will be secured by licensee until the next draw.
UNCLAIMED PRIZES: Will be secured for a period of 1 year following each weekly draw. Unclaimed prizes after this time period will be reported to, and a charitable allocation will be approved by, the SLGA.
CLAIMANTS: The winner must provide their full name, address and phone number and identification upon claiming their prize.
PRIVACY: By claiming a prize, winner consents to the use of their likeness/photograph, first and last name, ticket number, city/town of residence and the audio/video recording (or written transcription) of the winner notification telephone call, for any publicity purposes by the SARCS. The SARCS respects the privacy of its raffle supporters; we do not sell, rent, or trade our supporter lists. The information we collect is used to process raffle ticket purchases, keep our supporters informed about the activities of The SARCS, and ask for their support for our mission. LEGAL
DETERMINATION OF OFFICIAL WINNER(S): The SARCS shall have the sole discretion to determine whether each Potential Winner is an official winner of a Prize (an “Official Winner”). The SARCS’s decision concerning the identity of all Official Winners shall be final and binding. A Potential Winner must be eligible to participate in the Raffle under these Official Rules and must not be in violation of these Official Rules as determined in the SARCS’s sole judgment;
AWARD OF PRIZE(S) TO OFFICIAL WINNER(S): A Prize will be awarded to each Potential Winner who has been designated by the SARCS as an Official Winner. All prizes will be sent to the Winner via Cheque within 5 business days of Winning. For security and safety reasons, no cash payments will be made to winners.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Released Parties (defined below under “RELEASE OF LIABILITY”) are not responsible for: (1) Entries which are stolen, lost, damaged, illegible, given away or no longer in the purchaser’s possession, (2) Entries that have been or may have been tampered with or re-sold in violation of these Official Rules; (3) Entries or payments that are delayed, misdirected, undelivered, not fully captured, or garbled as a result of any failure or problem whatsoever with the availability, functionality, operability or use of any network, server, ISP, website, computer, telephone, cable or satellite modem or connection, hand held mobile device or any other computer equipment or connection, whether or not caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by viruses, worms, or malfunctions affecting a network, server ISP or any equipment or programming used in or associated with the Raffle; (4) any other errors of any kind, whether human, typographical, printing, mechanical, or electronic in nature, which relate to or are connected with the Raffle (collectively, as described in clauses (1) through (4), “Errors”), including without limitation Errors in Raffle-related materials or in the administration of the Raffle, such as Errors in processing Entries, identifying Potential Winners, determining Official Winners, or announcing or delivering Prizes; or If any portion of the Raffle is compromised, in The SARCS’s sole judgment, by a virus, worm, bug, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in The SARCS’s sole judgment, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Raffle, or the proper submission or capture of Entries (collectively, a “Compromising Event”), then The SARCS reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or terminate the Raffle, and to select winners from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received before the known occurrence or discovery of such Comprising Event. All Entry purchases shall be final, and no refunds or replacements will be issued by The SARCS. The SARCS has sole and final decision on admissibility of entries and the determination of prize winner.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Entrants, by participating in the Raffle, agree that The SARCS and Tap 50:50, each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, shareholders, members, consultants and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against, any liability for injuries, losses, cost, expenses or damages of any kind, including damages for death, personal injury, property damage.
