DRAW PROCEDURE:
The initial draw will begin with a new deck of 52 cards.
a. The draw procedure will be visible for participants to see as well as be broadcast live on Facebook.
b. A single ticket number for the weekly winner will be selected each week by a certified Random Number Generator (RNG) from all raffle ticket numbers sold during the week leading up to the draw. Draws will be made publicly every Wednesday @ 7:30pm at the LAEA Office Concourse at 5521-49 Avenue Lloydminster, SK.
c. The name drawn will be announced verbally three times over a period of 15 minutes to confirm they are in attendance. That person can then come up and have the chance to pick the Ace of Hearts.
d. If the person whose name is drawn is not in attendance, the Proxy will then draw a card on behalf of the winner. The proxies for this raffle will be Heather Klages, Kurt Price, Dan Soul, John Blair, Doug Rodwell and Gerald Aalbers. The proxy’s only job is to select a card if the winner is not present.
e. Before the draw, the deck of cards will be displayed in such a manner as to confirm that the Ace of Hearts is in the deck.
f. After confirmation that the Ace of Hearts is in the deck, the weekly draw winner (or Proxy) must sit in the seat provided while shuffling occurs. Cards are to be shuffled, mixed sufficiently and spread out on the table face down.
g. The ticket winner (or Proxy) will then put one finger on the selected card. The Dealer will remove all surrounding cards while the ticket winner (or Proxy) holds their finger on the selected card. Once the surrounding cards have been moved to the side, the selected card will be turned over by the Dealer. If the card drawn is not the Ace of Hearts, the card is marked with a line through the face of the card and is initialed by the Draw Supervisor. The card will then be posted for display each week. The amount in the Chase the Ace jackpot then carries forward to the next draw, adding another 30% of weekly ticket sales to the next week jackpot, and so on. The remaining cards will be displayed to prove the Ace of Hearts was indeed present and then the remaining cards will be secured in a locked safe at LAEA until the next draw.
h. All tickets from the previous week are then declared void and ticket sales commence for the next weekly draw.
DISTRIBUTION OF WEEKLY SALES:
a. One winning ticket will be drawn for 20% of the weekly ticket sales and a chance to draw for the Ace of Hearts from a deck of cards, which will begin as a standard 52-card deck of playing cards and will decrease by 1 card each draw date.
b. 30% of the weekly sales will go into the Chase the Ace jackpot
c. 50% of the weekly sales will go to the Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association for Grandstand replacement, facility upgrades and operational expenses.
PROGRESSIVE JACKPOT: The jackpot will be initially seeded with $15,000. If the Ace of Hearts is drawn, the second raffle will also be seeded with $15,000.
If the card selected by the weekly winner (or proxy) reveals the Ace of Hearts (including week 1), the weekly draw winner will receive the Chase the Ace Progressive Jackpot, consisting of 30% of all ticket sales collected over all weeks, plus the $15,000 seeded amount.
The weekly draws will be made at approximately 7:30 pm on Wednesdays starting October 13, 2021 and streamed live on Facebook. Purchasers do not need to be present to win.
GAME PLAY OUT: If the game is not concluded by the end of the licencing period according to the dates of the SLGA licence, the game will be played out on the last Wednesday before licence expiration which will be October 05, 2022. RNG draws will be made and cards selected (in person or by Proxy) until there is a winner. There will be no sales between these draws and if the 20% prize weekly winner does not choose the Ace of Hearts, only the progressive jackpot will be eligible to be won in subsequent draws.
CLAIMANTS: The winner must provide proof of purchase, their full name, address and phone number and photo identification upon claiming their prize.
POSTING WINNERS: The winning ticket number will be posted to www.lloydexh.com following each weekly draw, along with the weekly prize amount and the revealed playing card associated with the weekly winning ticket. Winning information will be announced and streamed live on Facebook.
UNCLAIMED PRIZES: Will be secured for a period of 1 year following each weekly draw. Unclaimed prizes after this time will be reported to SLGA; and a charitable allocation made, subject to SLGA approval.
